Chris is one of the eight main protagonists of the 2015 video game Until Dawn. He is described by the game as protective, methodical, and humorous, and is initially presented as the group's jokester and general dorky goofball. However, as the tone of Until Dawn turns more serious, Chris proves to be one of the calmest and most capable characters.

Chris is a friendly, easy to get along with person, and although he can be a bit awkward he's generally sensitive to his friends' thoughts and feelings. His protective trait seems to be his strongest overall and informs most of his major decisions in Until Dawn, as he risks his life multiple times to try to help his friends. He's even-tempered and slow to anger, but doesn't handle his anger well when pushed to that point. By the end of Until Dawn he's noticeably subdued, having been traumatized by the events of the game.

SKILLS
  • TECHNOLOGY Chris is talented at working with technology of any sort, particularly phones and phone-like devices, and has an interest in programming.
  • SHOOTING Despite having never fired a gun before the night of the events of Until Dawn, Chris is an extremely good shot; in order to survive the night he must never miss any shot he takes.
  • ANALYZATION When given time to consider things, Chris is adept at putting together information and thinking things through logically in order to understand the true situation.
WEAKNESSES
  • CLUMSINESS Chris is generally uncoordinated and not particularly athletic. He can manage for short times and in some extreme situations, but his clumsiness can and has led to actual injuries.
  • CAUTIOUSNESS Although Chris makes some very brave decisions, he does so out of a desire to protect his friends rather than actual courage. He is by no means cowardly, but if no one else is immediately at risk he'd rather pick the safest option available.
BUTTERFLY EFFECT
  • RATS WITH BUSHY TAILS Chris chooses not to shoot the squirrel, so nature remains in balance and his and Sam's relationship does not decrease.
  • AND WHICH ONE WILL DIE Chris chooses to save Ashley. Josh feels betrayed and antagonizes Chris, who considers violence but disarms Mike instead.
  • FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED Ashley finds the scissors and uses them to stab Josh, who gives her a black eye. Chris later punches Josh as payback.
  • POINT BLANK Chris chooses to shoot himself, but the gun is filled with blanks and he's unhurt. Ashley later opens the door for Chris while he's being chased by a wendigo, saving his life.
  • LEFT BEHIND Ashley refuses to leave Chris behind in the tunnels, and she does not investigate the voice. Both Ashley and Chris rejoin the group safely.
  • THE RESULT OF CHAOS Sam, Mike, Ashley, Emily, and Chris all escape the lodge fire. Jessica and Matt survive until dawn. Josh is trapped in the mines.
