Yeah that's why I'm doing Josh baby-sitting duty here, so stop nagging me about the dishes.
[Unless you wanna trade. >:c Not that he's doing all that much babysitting right now, as he's mostly replaced that with sulking in his room because he feels irritated with everyone and everything and so is pouting about it like an adult.]
But fine, whatever, if it's that big a deal I'll be out there in like an hour.
[To sulkily do the dishes as loudly and unnecessarily clumsily as possible. Maybe he'll 'accidentally' break something. That'd make him feel better, surely.]
[ oh man. now. now she feels just a little bad. but also righteously passive aggressive. these feelings do not mix. ]
Then why is he living with us? He could turn psycho on us at any moment, Chris. I sometimes wonder if he's more of a danger to us than the monsters out there are.
No, whatever. I'll have them done by then.
[ the water is already being run bitch. >:< too slow, chris, toooooo slow for this little lady. ]
So what, we should just kick him out? I kind of let him get killed once already, Ash.
[And normally thinking about that would cause him to feel horribly guilty and sad, but right now it just makes him mad. Partially at Josh for going and causing the whole situation both at home and here, partially at himself for not doing things differently, partially at Ashley for bringing it up even though she has good reason to be worried.
And fine, then, he won't do them.]
Okay, then I guess complaining at me was pretty pointless.
Do you think he'll wander into the caves without you or something, Chris? [ Josh doesn't need his hand held, he needs electroshock, she wants to say. But she refrains. ] Anything that happens to Josh is his own fault, not yours.
[He doesn't want to be having to look after Josh, but he's kind of stuck and that's also quietly infuriating. He doesn't want to have to deal with this. He wants to be angry and tell Josh to get out and go think about what he's done and not to come back until he's sorry, but even despite the anger there's just no way he can do that. Ashley's wrong; he's responsible, in a way, both at home and here, because he's been Josh's friend for so long and looking out for each other is what friends do.
But he's not going to argue about that, because all it's going to do is make them even more annoyed with each other and even through the effects of Rage's power he doesn't want to be fighting with Ashley.]
[ That piece of bitterness deep down relishes in the very idea of Josh wandering away, disappearing into the caves never to be seen again. He put them through what felt like a literal hellscape—a combination of every thing she hates about horror movies; why can't she be bitter, and angry, and hope he dies even just a little bit? A lot of that is just Rage, but not all of it, and that part of her scares her more than some literal monsters. ]
I'm sorry. [ She types that instead of He deserves it. Or rather, she backspaces, and apologizes. She's not an inherently cruel person, but he deserves it for what he did to Chris. Ash does not easily forgive, or forget. ]
[Nothing about any of this is okay, but he says it anyway. It isn't Ashley's fault, at least; none of this is her fault, and angry or not he can't blame her for it or for how she feels.
There's a pause before he sends another message.]
I'll see you at dinner, okay?
[They should probably both take a little time to cool off and get their emotions under control.]
[ She wants to bicker, and fight, but knows he's right. Even with the rage in the air, Chris somehow still keeps a cool head and it's something she'll admire quietly to herself after all this insanity. ]

[ hint hint pull ur nerdy weight you nerdy nerd nerd. ]

[He's not stupid, gosh. And who are you calling a nerd, nerd.]
But I'm not the only other person here. Make Josh do them.
[Josh owes them a whole lot of doing the dishes, at the very least.]

It's not like he needs you by his side 24/7. Let's remember what he did to you, ok?
