[Hm. He has to admit, this a lot more appealing an option than letting Cashmere actually kill him, and that plan's mostly off the table at this point anyway. Chris is a little worried about the idea of trying to fake out the Null, but considering they're already about murdering everyone it's hard to be too concerned about that.
And if they can pull it off after all, it'll not only benefit Gren's appearance of loyalty but will get them access to one of the god-killing weapons. Taking the attention of a potential murderer off of himself is also a side benefit.
So he's definitely thinking about it.]
I'm uh, not exactly opposed to the idea, especially since like... The other plan I was working out with someone involved like, actually dying. Which I was sort of not hype for.
[So yeah.]
Are you sure you can fake it convincingly enough? I mean like, it's a big risk to try to like, pull one over on them when you're already pulling one over on them.
We need one of those weapons and talkin' is only gonna get me so far.
[He knew that, eventually, he would have to prove loyalty to the Null's cause somehow. If he can do it without having to actually kill someone, he'd rather take that route. It may get him into trouble if he fucks it up, but he doesn't want to get blood on his hands.]
I think I can pull it off. I'm gonna have to do somethin' to make them trust me, anyway, so I should take fuckin' advantage. If I wait, I might have to do somethin' that I can't fake.
[Chris considers all of that as he finishes the coffees--he'd forgotten about them briefly--and hands Gren's to him.]
Okay. Well, um, I'm not saying no--it's actually a pretty great plan--but I've got to talk to a few other people first. I mean, I need to talk with uh, the other person I was making plans with, and I'd have to make sure some people won't worry about me, but yeah. Tentatively I'll say I'm in.
[Depending on how talking with Cashmere goes, anyway.]
[He takes the coffee; the fact that it's got a little bracing whiskey in it is probably a good thing right about now. There isn't a whole lot of danger involved in this for Chris-- what could the Null really do, want him double-dead?-- but if he fucks this up...]
[Well, he'll just have to not fuck up.]
Okay. [A tentative yes is better than an outright no.] Keep me updated, I guess. I want to get this shit started sooner rather than later. And if that other person gives you trouble? Let me know. I got a way with people.

I uh, don't think I'll have a problem with them, but you know. I appreciate it.
