Monster: Wendigo
World: The one Chris, Ashley, Emily, and Josh are from.
Strengths: Strength, speed, teeth and claws, armour-like skin, good hearing, intelligent, can mimic voices.
Weaknesses: Fire, vision is based on movement.
Wendigos are actually spirits that possess people who have either engaged in cannibalism or are starving and then influences them into cannibalism. Once possessed by the wendigo spirit the person transforms into a monster over a period of about two weeks, with a few days of incubation time. Their skin starts hardening, they lose their vision, their teeth grow out, and their limbs stretch. There's no way to cure them that we know of, but during the wendigo thing here Hope said he could cure anyone brought to his Temple. As far as I know no one actually managed to do that.
Wendigos are really fast and really strong, but you can outrun one. A shotgun will knock them back but bullets or knives or whatever don't hurt them unless you burn off their armour with fire first. They can't see you if you hold perfectly still, but they have good hearing. They can also mimic people's voices and they're smart, so they'll try to lure you into a trap. They seem to suck at opening doors but they can just go through them if the door isn't really strong.
If you kill a wendigo, it just lets the spirit loose. We think all the spirits in Hadriel are in the caves, not the city, but there's still a risk that someone could be possessed in the caves and then bring a spirit into the main city. Also the gods put human meat in the food supply once before so there's always a chance it'll happen again.

Weaknesses: Light, fire
I don't know much about these, but they were in the coliseum when I first arrived. They liked to stay in the dark and were really hard to see since they were pretty much gelatinous and see-through, but they had long spindly fingers and their faces were just mouths of teeth. They wouldn't come into the light from the creepy lamps that were scattered around, and my lighter seemed to be enough to keep them back. Bullets worked okay on them but I don't know if they killed them or just hurt them.
