If everybody thinks you're dead, you can lie low and stay off of anyone's hit list for a while. And if the Null think I did it, they won't think that we're workin' together. That might help keep 'em from figurin' shit out, and even if they do, it might keep some of the heat off you.
[Chris is already on the Null's shit list; if they find out that Gren's been working with him to undermine them, they may make a more serious effort at getting rid of him.]
[Hm. He has to admit, this a lot more appealing an option than letting Cashmere actually kill him, and that plan's mostly off the table at this point anyway. Chris is a little worried about the idea of trying to fake out the Null, but considering they're already about murdering everyone it's hard to be too concerned about that.
And if they can pull it off after all, it'll not only benefit Gren's appearance of loyalty but will get them access to one of the god-killing weapons. Taking the attention of a potential murderer off of himself is also a side benefit.

I'm uh, not exactly opposed to the idea, especially since like... The other plan I was working out with someone involved like, actually dying. Which I was sort of not hype for.

Are you sure you can fake it convincingly enough? I mean like, it's a big risk to try to like, pull one over on them when you're already pulling one over on them.
